How Much It Costs To Feed a Child in Africa For a Day

This is a question many people and organizations are doing today, and it is really encouraging how the number is getting smaller with the help of technology.

Companies as Edesia Nutrition and MANA Nutrition are among the main manufacturers of RUTF (Ready To Use Therapeutic Food) in the world, and both are making a fantastic job both producing and delivering this product to the places where it is most needed, including but not limited to African countries, specially those located in sub-Saharan Africa.

Importantly noted is that, not only these companies are making excellent job providing nutrition, but saving lives at delivering treatment options with the RUTF delivery to children suffering from severe forms of malnutrition, stunting and similar conditions.

It is really overwhelming that today in a world with much more technology a vast number of children under five, around 12,000 still die every day because of hunger.

Therefore, and this is only my estimation, $9M invested per year could save up to 10M people, including more than 5M children that die every year because of preventable malnutrition or hunger.

Just to put this into perspective, Amazon revenue is 1.2B per day, which makes me think that the reason of this happening in today's world is just our egoism which is expressed in many ways, from overspending in superfluous things while others suffer from not having the necessary, to throwing food in edible conditions, etc...

These are little things that any of us can and should improve so any sister or brother of us, specially the little ones, stop suffering and dying from this.
